Another Suit
My affinity for advertisements is no secret and this image is one that drew me in immediately. Not only is there a storyline but a suit. A pure white, crisp suit that contrasts with the smog leaving the train and the dreary station. This suit shows off not only the curves but is embellished with ruffles putting it into a particular time period. The flesh booties are another irresistible piece.

I LOVE HEADBANDS! They make almost every outfit cuter and more fashion forward without being as prominent as wearing a hat. While I am trying harder to concentrate on my jewelery accessories when putting together my outfits, I often forget. However, throwing on a headband before you leave the house is an easy way to add something extra to your outfit while still keeping it relatively simple. While the headbands shown on the runway in fashion week 2009 are extremely heavy and not really applicable to everyday wear, the headband shown on top is way cute without being too overwhelming. And I have to give credit to Blair in Gossip Girl for really making me notice headbands, seeing as she wears almost one per episode!
That Hat
Hm, I really can't decide whether what she has on her hed is just a hair accessory or an incredibly unique hat. Either way I think that this outfit is incredibly vogue. The hair piece reminds me of a modern twist on the wide rimmed hats you see on ladies at the horse races (like Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady). I love the bows that slip off her shoulders on the ivory dress, the whimsical draping and how short it cuts off. The silk dress was made by Alex Perry specifically for Miranda Kerr.
Perfect for a toga party.. err the country club. :)

Carrie Goes to Paris
How can we forget when Carrie left her life in New York in the season finale of Sex and the City to be with the Russian? While this moment was a climax for Carrie's love life, it was also, in my opinion, her proudest moment in fashion. I will never forget watching this episode and seeing Carrie step out of a town car on a Paris in a long jacket that literally sparkled down to her knees. Although this picture is not the greatest, she paired the jacket with a knee length black fitted skirt and striped top with a very unique flower in the middle. With her hair in perfect curls and a finishing touch of a very French black hat, I could not help but smile at how happy this outfit made me. It was the perfect outfit for the perfect place in the perfect situation. To this day I still wish somewhere I could find a jacket as amazing as the one in this scene.
P.S. How cute is the pale yellow clutch paired with her ensemble?

Glorified Violence
I realize that there is an issue with advertisements glorifying violence in advertisements. This often happens to women and Dolce & Gabbana has had several offenses in this field.
I however, don't see an incredible amount of harm in an ad like this. Of course I support gender equality but I definitely don't consider myself a feminist. I think that an ad like this is not far from a movie with a similar storyline. I do, however, think that these types of ads are effective because they intrigue people and are therefore more memorable.
My ultimate point being: Don't you love this dress?

Femme Suit
I am about to graduate and enter into the job world, or the real adult world as I like to call it, because I definitely don't feel like a real adult yet. I have always found that the line between daily style and business style is very faded. There are certain things you would never wear on the street, and certainly things that you would never wear in the office and then the crossovers. The three piece suit above is Ralph Lauren and has the feminine quality to it that business-attire-only needs, and in the most subtle way it is almost 'costumey', if you will, and kind of reminds me of Sherlock Holmes.
Just remind me to look back into it once I get that job.
Blair in Shorts
When did you ever see Blair in shorts? I can't recall the last time I did and I'm an avid follower of her character. I really like this look though. The green square bag (very opposite of the slouchy bags I usually accumulate) the red accent bracelet and the headband all tie in together very nicely and look incredibly posh. You would expect nothing less of Blair Waldorf.

Mixing
This advertisement in Cosmo Magazine had a few pages worth of girls mixing patterns, this one particularly I liked because of the covered shoulders but "baring all" legs. It says on the picture that in order to mix florals and stripes make sure the patterns are similar in size. How chic.

Chaos & Harmony
So call me a dork but I have a tendency to be drawn to the architecture of shoes. After all, it is what makes one shoe stand out from another. This design by Chaos & Harmony stood out for me particularly because it looks like two different pieces that have been welded together. Definitely a pair I would like to add to my closet.
Street Style
This girl has such a fresh face, the photo immediately caught my eye. I really like her style, it's completely unlike anything I've tried but I am quick to notice the many different patterns and types of fabric in her ensemble. The lace in her dress to the boho bag and the slight disheveled look in her hair. It isn't perfectly in place yet still has an air of perfection.
Airport Wear
Usually when traveling people wear sweats and what they think is their most comfortable attire, however, whenever I do that I get where I'm going not only am I restless from sitting for so long but also I feel icky and gross. So maybe I'll aim to be more like these girls next time.
First of all, I really like riding boots right now. They are warm and keep out the elements. And whoever said that a sweater, scarf or peacoat isn't comfortable, hasn't worn these items.

Boho Chic
I love the lose fitting shirt paired with the khaki shorts and just the perfect amount of jewelry. To top it all off she has some cute braids is her hair. The whole look is very boho and seems very comfortable and easy to pull off. The outfit is Free People and stolen right out of their January catalog.
Elbow Length Sleeves
This is my favorite style as of right now. I just bought a dress like this in green but want another! Typical, it is my MO after all. Blair looks so cute and warm and incredibly well put together with her cape coat and elbow length sleeved dress. This type of dress is perfect: modest yet you can still show some leg. Ooh Lala

Shoes?
There have been a few posts with boyfriend jeans but something else caught my eye in this picture. The woman's shoes are never something I would have picked out the wear prior to this, but this picture has enlightened me on this option. They look like men's shoes but have a very feminine quality. She's also wearing the rolled up jeans I keep coming across. It must mean something..
