Opening Day

As Opening Day was yesterday at the fairgrounds, I thought it was appropriate to post of large floppy hats. These items are incredibly elegant and not given the wear time they deserve. So I recommend everyone dust off their oversized hats, (you must have one somewhere in back of your closet) and throw a garden party that we can all come to.

Winter Apparel in March

I know we are at the cusp of winter and spring is right around the corner, but it is perfect timing because these will be pretty affordable: I love ear flapped hunter hats. This item, most memorable because of Holden Caufield and his red hunter cap, is not only warm but makes for the perfect snow bunny attire if fashioned properly.

Boyfriend Shorts

I really like the way the girl is almost swimming in her over sized sweater, floppy hat and boyfriend shorts. It looks really playful and summery. I love that the sweater is hanging off her shoulder too. She is showing the perfect amount of skin.

That Hat

Hm, I really can't decide whether what she has on her hed is just a hair accessory or an incredibly unique hat. Either way I think that this outfit is incredibly vogue. The hair piece reminds me of a modern twist on the wide rimmed hats you see on ladies at the horse races (like Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady). I love the bows that slip off her shoulders on the ivory dress, the whimsical draping and how short it cuts off. The silk dress was made by Alex Perry specifically for Miranda Kerr.

Perfect for a toga party.. err the country club. :)

Here it is:

Finally, I've been staring at this picture all break. What Leighton is wearing is so simple yet airy. I refused to get a fedora before because I felt like it would look like I was trying too hard but I like the way this one feels beachy (I gave in and bought one today.) Moreover I'm kinda into the one shoulder thing, especially when it's as casual as her Pencey One Shoulder Tee. Love Love

Um, the entire outfit. Duh

What is it that makes Blair stand out so much? I don't know, maybe it's the fact that it's so girlish and smart. It's the kind of aura I'd want to give off.

Mixing pink and mint is an interesting choice too. Of course, wonderfully executed.
