More Marloes Horst

Here's the rest of the Blanco Spring 2010 lookbook, just because it's some great inspiration.

Bows Yet Again

Another example of sporting big bows on your tresses. I love this girl's blush shoulder bag; not to mention the architecture of the building in the background. Environment makes up half of the style you wear.

Beach House Wear

This dress makes me think of summer. The free-flowing blue and white dress pinched with the large nude belt is so carefree.

Heels with Socks Continued

More examples of pulling off the trend of heels with socks.

Hint of Cheetah

I've never been too crazy about cheetah print, but I really like it when it is used in small amounts (top: shoes, bottom: scarf) in these looks on Marloes Horst. It really adds playfulness to an outfit.

On another note, I love the black trench paired with the shorts and big bow in the first look and I think the second look is something you can wear on an everyday basis that looks very put together.

Big Blue Bow

Tada! The ultimate accessory to wear that makes anything pop. You could be having the worst day and with a bow like this, look more alluring than anyone in the room.

Wedding Dress Special

Every girl dreams of her wedding. Whether it be decades ahead, or in the upcoming months, we all have an ever-evolving wish list of every detail of our special day (even though many of us have yet to choose our Prince Charming). Here are a few of my favorites over the years:
Now the question is, A-line? Ballgown? Dropped-waist? Lace? The list goes on.

The Holy Grail

Everything matches a Hermes Birkin Bag. The effortlessly chic Birkin Bag is so simple in shape, yet is one of the most valued and treasured fashion accessories to own. Starting at around $5000 US dollars these bags could easily go up to the ten thousands and, unless you are Victoria Beckham, you will sit YEARS on a waiting list to actually buy one. They are beautiful bags and owning one seems like a dream. But, maybe someday...

BTW the Birkin Beckham is is carrying in the last picture is actually diamond encrusted. Ahhh we can only dare to dream...

One Pair, Two Ways

Here are two completely different ways to wear the same exact boots. It's amazing what stylizing can bring to the table.

Parisians always have such a what seems effortless time looking perfectly chic

We Not In Kansas Anymore

I am absolutely in love with how Leighton Meester wore this Louis Vuitton Cruise dress. She looks almost like a modern-day Dorothy by matching the piece with beautifully red mary jane pumps. But, also take a look at how interesting the dress is. The top of the dress is very fitted with the stripes going in many ways, while the bottom creates almost an asymmetrical tier shape. Its beautiful and unique. I've never seen anything like this!

P.S. Must be nice to be a celebrity. Leighton wore this Louis Vuitton piece to the 2009 Teen Choice Awards and the dress is from the 2010 Cruise Collection.

(Sort Of) Tucking In

The slightly higher waist on these shorts looks really crisp and fresh, the longer leg makes it possible to wear short shorts while still looking really put together. Also, pairing it with the cropped top gives an appearance of tucking in without actually tucking in. Plus, the neutrals really compliment each other. I basically like the whole look.

Spring Dress

I love how you could either wear this dress by Reem Arca (spring 2010 rtw) during the day or dress it up with some accessories and heels for night.

Pumping Up the Shorts

I recently came to the realization that people don't amp up their shorts as much as then could. Usually they are just an item that goes with something other piece.  However, I think there is a lot of room for experimentation with different statement shorts. Whether they are high waisted, scalloped, or made with an entirely unique fabric.

P.S. There are those fabu Givenchy Cut Out Booties again.

Next Bikini

In the spirit of asymmetrical things, I love this bathing suit that Jennifer Hawkins wore on the runway at the Myer Fashion Launch. It is completely unlike any bathing suit I've come across before. Sequins, coral and asymmetrics are all good things.

Marie Antoinette

Speaking of Marie Antoinette, I wish I had been able to experience being on the set of the movie recently produced by Sofia Coppola. She was granted access to Versailles  to film the movie. The palate colors in the movie are inspired by macaroons and it is amazing to see all the Monolo Blahniks he designed particularly for the movie.

Lantern Sleeves

Lantern Sleeves are another new style that are becoming more popular. It resembles the fashion from the 1700's of the queens like Marie Antoinette. Way to bring back past trends eh?

Dior Extreme

I love love love Carrie Bradshaw's Dior Extreme Gladiator Sandals that she wears over and over again in the Sex and the City movie. In fact I just ordered a pair that look almost identical by Michael Antonio.

Inspiration from the Youth

Look at this cute little girl. What a fabulous idea to pair a blue coat with bright red shoes.

One Shoulder

I LOVE one shouldered dresses:::::

Rachel McAdams - Andrew Gn
Jennifer Hawkins - 30 days of Fashion and Beauty launch party

Leighton Meester - Marc Jacobs

There is so much structure and ways to experiment with them.

Knots of Scarves

I love all the different ways to tie scarves, here is one more option. It does look vastly different from the way it looks with a thicker scarf but still, another notch in the fashion book

Wallpaper Print

This look is very unique; the pattern on her jacket is like a seventies wall paper inspired print. It is contrasted with a more modern, short, yellow, layered skirt. One of the details I pay the most attention to, however, is the neutral color of the shoes. I think it is more popular for people to wear one color and then make a statement with bold shoes but this is the other way around.

Spring Into Spring With This...

Love, love this outfit. Simple, laid back, modern classic. I like how the blazer is updated with the angular cut-out below the button. It gives a fresh edge, which I adore. Instead of the jersey-knit shorts, I would replace it with slightly distressed denim cut-offs. I would love to pair this look with pinky/nude flats, a giant, ceramic, nautical watch, diamond stud earrings, and a gorgeous tan.

With spring just around the corner, what better way to make an entrance into the new season?

What's Your Poison?

So every year I treat myself to a new perfume. This year, to start off 2010 and my 22nd year, I decided to get myself a fragrance that made a statement. I wanted it to say... "I'm a sweet girl, but I definitely have my sultry side." Let's just say, I've found my poison. It's called Hypnotic Poison by Christian Dior. It's been around for a while, but it smells delicious. This is not a "teen" fragrance, nor is it for someone who talks the talk, but can't walk the walk, if you get my drift. Upon first spray, it smells floral, but with an unusual spicy imbalance (just like the company's description implies). It smells sweetly wrong, but it's a good thing in this case! People will ask what you're wearing at first whiff. The scent finally dries down on the skin to reveal a very warmed-up vanilla. With perfume, you have to be careful. You have to wear the fragrance. The fragrance doesn't wear you. I think I've met my perfume match :) Also, how awesome is the ad for it? Evil temptresses are so hot right now.

Sweaters & Bows

This woman's oversized sweater looks so comfortable but stylish paired with the blouse with the bow garnish on the front. The entire color palate is relaxing and provoking at the same time. The grays with blue undertones, the slate and the brown work very harmoniously.

Brown and Black

I like that this woman is wearing all black except for her chocolate brown shoes. I think people are often afraid to pair colors brown and black, however, I dont think it is an offense. She looks so cute and (im sure unintentionally) her hair matches her shoes almost exactly.

Versace

This slinky dress that Gisele wore to the Metropolitan Art Gala by Versace is the paradigm of elegance. I love the unique design, or cutouts of this dress. You might have to have a flawless body though... let's imagine it not so.

Details and Dips

I love the details of the fabric of this dress that Emma Watson wore to the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Premiere and I love how classy and vintage it looks but that it incorporates a low dip in the neckline making it more modern.
